All participants must stay on site. Young adults 17 and under must be accompanied by at least one parent. Parents of 18+ year olds are encouraged to attend.

Deposits are due by June 30, 2024.  

All attendees (young adults + parents) must submit a $1,200 deposit (PER PERSON) to secure their spot.

  • The deposit to reserve your spot is $1,200 per participant, which will be applied towards the actual costs of the event, i.e. there is no profit built into the cost.

    The estimated cost per person is $1,000 for double occupancy and $1,400 for single occupancy.

    After the event, we'll send you an itemized invoice with the balance (or a refund) once we know the final costs (which depends on how many people sign and your rooming arrangements).

    Refund Policy:

    100% of the deposit is refundable if you cancel 90 days before the event (May 2, 2024)

    50% is refundable if you cancel 45 days before the event (June 14, 2024).

    No refunds within 45 days of the event, unless you can find a replacement for you.

Come play in nature’s theme park with this Half Day River Tubing adventure on the Mulgrave River. This fun and exciting tour is a safe water activity, which includes calm water drifting, small rapids and some beautiful scenery. The Mulgrave River is part of the catchment system for Queensland’s highest mountains, Bellenden Ker and Bartle Frere, which is also Australia’s highest rainfall area. This freshwater river flows year-round and is bordered by rainforest and tropical vegetation, creating a lovely natural backdrop for your river tubing tour.

After a fun morning tubing, we visit a local pub for a traditional Aussie meal before we continue a short way to your next adventure.

Surrounded by world heritage mountains and the planet's oldest rainforests, Mount n Ride adventures unique horse trail rides will take you all over our beautiful 150 acre property and give you an experience that you'll never forget. Our experienced tour guides will take you through hilltops to headlands, down into the rainforest and then on into the crystal clear Little Mulgrave river (season permitting) as you sit back and enjoy the view from the best seat in the house, your horse.

  • After a full day adventure in the beautiful Little Musgrave National Park it is time to return to Cairns.

Day 7: Friday, 1st November 2024

  • After breakfast you will be collected from your hotel for a short transfer to the Cairns Marina. Great Barrier Reef Cruise After a 2 hour motorised sail on board the 32 meter sailing Catamaran, Ocean Spirit, you will arrive at Michaelmas Cay where there is so much to see and do. 

Enjoy snorkeling in the cay’s protected shallow waters, try an introductory scuba dive in the fringing reefs, cruise in the Semi-submarine/glass bottom boat for a diver’s view of the reef, watch the fish feeding presentation, observe the bird life or just chill out on Ocean Spirit’s spacious decks or on the beach. Throughout the day, the ‘beach buggy shuttle’ will transfer you between Ocean Spirit and the beach.

  • Arrive back in Cairns and transfer back to the hotel.

On route back to Cairns, stop at Wildlife Habitat at Port Douglas for your chance to “Swim with the Salties”. Get ready to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush and dive into the aquatic territory with the mighty Estuarine Crocodiles at Wildlife Habitat's CrocArena. This is not for the faint of heart, but if you're up for the challenge, this is the only opportunity of its kind in Queensland to swim with these incredible predators and live to tell the tale!

CrocArena is home to the spine-tingling Swim With The Salties experience. Swim just centimetres away from these enormous creatures and engage in the most terrifying experience that comes from watching these apex predators' bone-crushing jaws snap close. Marvel at the sheer power and size of these giant reptiles as you witness their incredible strength and agility up close.

Experience the very best of the Great Ocean Road with this Ultimate tour that showcases the splendor of this famous icon from the comfort of a luxury touring vehicle before taking to the skies in a private return helicopter journey to Melbourne.

As you journey along the Great Ocean Road you will gain an insight into Australian surfing culture at Bells Beach, spot kangaroos and discover one of the many popular seaside villages such as Lorne where you can take a leisurely stroll on the beach.

Your professional guide will point out resident wild koalas at Kennett River before arriving at Apollo Bay where a gourmet lunch of quality local Great Ocean Road produce and fresh seafood is served opposite the sandy bay beaches.

Following lunch, traverse inland through towering forests towards the Port Campbell National Park and get your first glimpse of The Twelve Apostles. Emerging 65 metres above sea level these towers of limestone are an inspiring sight to see and are truly one of Australia’s icons. Visit the historic landmark of Loch Ard Gorge and hear tragic and romantic tales of shipwreck.

Then take to the skies in a private helicopter for a scenic 75-minute return flight to Melbourne. Admire the wonders of the Great Ocean Road and the Otway Ranges from the air – a truly stunning sight.   • Your driver will transfer you to Flemington Race Course for your full day at the

Races! On 7 November 1861 about 4,000 people gathered at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne to watch a horserace that would become one of Australia’s most important sporting events. Fifty-seven horses were slated to take part in the race, though only 17 actually started. Sydney horse, Archer, trained by Etienne de Mestre, was the winner by a staggering six lengths.

Today, the Melbourne Cup is known as ‘the race that stops a nation’, drawing crowds of thousands on the first Tuesday in November every year.

  • Since a number of young adults paid their own way for the last retreat, we wanted to make this event as affordable as possible while still making it a special experience. The cost per person is about $600 assuming we have at least 30 people staying at the house and everyone is fine with sharing beds and rooms. Meals will be served both days. Includes all activities like pickleball and learning workshops. Excludes air travel and transportation to and from the house.

    The deposit will be applied towards the actual costs of the event, i.e. there is no profit built into the cost.

DAY 2 | backcountry Canyon-bound

Friday, November 10th

After breakfast we are canyon-bound! Today we ford the Fremont River to step into the backcountry. We will spend the next two days surrounded by white, gold, and red cliffs as we make our way through winding narrows and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Tonight, we sleep cliffside by one of two springs in the canyon! Don’t forget your One Sheets! We’ll have plenty of time throughout our journey to discuss each of them.

day 3 | panoramic views

Saturday, November 11th

Sleep in, sip that coffee, enjoy those views! Let the sun warm up the canyon! Feel free to wander up canyon while breakfast is being prepared! Today we exit our first canyon and hike up to the tops of a cliff for panoramic views of Capitol Reef. Here, with 360 views, we’ll enjoy lunch!

Afterward, we’ll follow a wash down to a deep creek. Here is where we will set up camp for our last night under the darkest desert skies you’ve ever seen!

day 4 | Slot canyons & waterfalls

Sunday, November 12th

Today, we follow the creek down, down, down as we wind our way through the Goosenecks, slot canyons, and over waterfalls! Here’s my one piece of advice, get wet early! There is no avoiding it and the sooner you take a dip, the better! We’ve spent the last two days in a dry desert canyon and today is our oasis!

Post-hike, we’ll treat ourselves to homemade pie and then our Capitol Reef Resort! We deserve a shower!

Accommodations = Resort. Included meals = Breakfast & Lunch. Miles = 3.5.

day 5 | departure

Monday, November 13th

Checkout is at 11am so we’ll head back to Salt Lake City then.

Welcome to Utah, a state that lives life elevated! On this 5-day journey, we are red rock canyon-bound! Utah boasts five national parks, all five celebrated for their towering cliffs, slickrock canyons, unique water-carved formations, and deep rich, mesmerizing colors. For this journey, BE takes you to its favorite - Capitol Reef National Park! Capitol Reef is Utah’s least visited park simply due to its remoteness! The views and the hikes are equally as magical as the others, if not more!

During our five days, we’ll saunter into the backcountry, getting off the beaten path.   • Anyone can join the team. We expect to have some fast athletes, and some that are working towards finding their fitter selves. Everyone who starts a race with the team will finish, and we’ll support each other no matter the pace.

  • Don’t worry, the GB Spartan Race Team virtual workout calls will guide you through everything you need to know and do to get yourself ready for race day!

  • Yes, once you have registered for your package you can indicate which race events you will be attending at a later date, and you can change your entry up to 30 days before each race date.

  • Unfortunately there are no refunds when you purchase.

  • Travel and lodging. We encourage GB race team members to coordinate accommodations as desired.
